End of Year info on former Yankees in the Minor Leagues:

 

Steven Drew – Arizona Diamondbacks

Played part season in A ball and hit .389 with 10 homers, moved to AA to finish the season.  Now playing in Arizona fall league.  Could end up in big leagues by end of ’06.

 

Micah Owings – Arizona Diamondbacks

Limited to short relief stints due to heavy college workload in spring, Micah flashed a mid 90’s fastball in high A ball, worked 22 innings, posted 30 K’s and a 2.45 ERA.

 

Jon Mark Owings – Atlanta Braves

Junior had 12 HR’s in 116 at bats with Danville and hit .293., and finished the season with Rome in low A.  Currently in instructional league.

 

Kyle Cofield – Atlanta Braves

Recorded 16 K’s in 15 innings with the Gulf Coast League Braves in 10 appearances.  Also in instructional league this fall.

 

Scott White – Boston Red Sox

Playing in high A at Wilmington, finished with 22 doubles and 13 HR’s and 60 RBI’s, while hitting .240.

 

Matt Murton – Chicago Cubs

A big year for “Rooster”.  Had big years in both AA and AAA, and has finished the season as starter with the Cubs.  Hit over .340 in both leagues, and has stayed around .320 in majors most of season.

 

Richard Lewis – Chicago Cubs

Playing at AA,  LuLu  finished the season around .250

 

Jordan Crews – Chicago Cubs

Jordan put up good stats in the Arizona rookie league, limiting hitters to a .176 average, and finished the season with a jump all the way to Daytona in high A.

 

Jon Douillard- Chicago Cubs

Split between short season A and Low A at Peoria

 

Michael Hyle – Chicago Cubs

Also split season between short season and Peoria, finished with a 4-5 record overall.

 

Marshall Szabo – Cleveland Indians

Playing at Lake County in A ball, Szabo finished the season around .250 with 6 homers.

 

 Chris Nelson – Colorado Rockies

Chris spent most of the season battling hamstring problems, but finished strong in A ball at Ashville, hitting around .250 after a rough start.

 

Dexter Fowler – Colorado Rockies

Playing his first season in rookie ball, Dex finished with a .273 average and 18 stolen bases.

 

Brian Rogers – Detroit Tigers

Posted a 4-1 record with a 2.06 ERA at Lakeland in high A.

 

Jeremy Hermida – Florida Marlins

Now in the big leagues finishing the season with the Marlins, Hermida was the AA All-Star game MVP, and hit around .300 with 18 home runs at Carolina.  May be the starting RF for Marlins in ’06.

 

Jimmy Barthmaier – Houston Astros

Jimmy posted 12 wins, was MVP pitcher on his club, and one of the league leaders in several stats at low A Lexington, before finishing with Salem in high A during the playoffs, where he went 1-0.  Finished with 148 K’s in 141 innings, and an E.R.A. around 2.00.  Poised to make some fast moves in organization.

 

Clifton Remole – Los Angeles Angeles

Started in low A, but moved quickly to high A, where he finished the season with a .300 average and only 19 K’s in 200 at bats.

 

Keiron Pope – Baltimore Orioles

Finished his first seson in pro ball at Bluefield in the rookie league.  Hit .230 with 5 homers.

 

Brandon Boggs – Texas Rangers

Playing at Clinton, in low A, Boggsy finished at .250, but hammered 13 HR’s and batted in 51 runs.

 

Mitchell Boggs – St. Louis Cardinals

Finished 4-4 with 3.89 ERA, 61 K’s in 70 innings at New Jersey in short season A ball.

 

Tyler Greene – St. Louis Cardinals

Cardinals first round pick ended season hitting .261 with 1 HR and 18 RBI’s in his first season at New Jersey

 

Danny Reuckel – Washington Nationals

Finished 9-6 with 4.16 ERA and 72 K’s in 80 innings at Harrisburg in AA.

 

Patrick Green – Kansas City Royals

Split time between low A Burlington and finishing in high A High Desert, as a starting pitcher at both, posted overall record of  9-11, with ERA around 4.00.

 

Matt Capps – Pittsburg Pirates

One of the few players in baseball to go from low A all the way to the Major Leagues in one season.  Started at Hickory in low A, now pitching for the Pirates in the bigs.  Used as a closer and set up man, Capps has had great success this season.

 

 Lee Mitchell – Florida Marlins

Playing at Jupiter, in high A, Mitch hit .226 but had 14 HR’s and 60 RBI’s

 

Russ Mitchell – Los Angeles Dodgers

Russ played games in 3 different levels this summer, but primarily at Ogden in the Rookie League, where he ended the season batting .289 with 13 HR’s and 54 RBI’s

 

Tyler Parker – St. Louis Cardinals

Playing most of the season at high A Palm Beach and finishing up in AA at Springfield, Tyler hit around .270 for the summer with 10 HR’s  & 60 RBI’s
