ECY defeated the South Troy Dodgers 8-0 Sunday afternoon in the Connie Mack World Series.  Ben McKinney pitched 5 – 1/3 rd flawless innings holding the dodgers to one hit and no runs.  Daniel Norris closed the 6th inning for the Yankees.  Kyle Farmer led the Yanks with a 3 for 3 night including a solo blast that started the Yanks on a run barrage after stranding 11 runners in the first four innings.  Zane Evans also contributed 3 hits and a RBI.  Stafford Booth got a big 2 out hit to drive in two runs in the 5th inning for the Yanks. In addition to a stellar pitching performance, Ben McKinney had a sacrifice RBI and a base hit to help himself on the mound with a great day at the plate. The Yankees get a bye in Round three and will play one of the three games scheduled for Wednesday.

The one downer of the day was the loss of Spencer Kieboom for the tourney.  Kieboom was struck in the wrist while batting in the 2nd inning.  He suffered a fracture in one of the bones in the wrist, but was able to stay in the game for an additional 2 innings before being lifted in the 4th for a pinch hitter. Spencer will be surely missed by the rest of the Yanks players and coaches as he travelled back to Atlanta early to see the wrist doctor.
